THIS IS A SUBSTITUTE POSITION.

DISTRICT-WIDE (PREK-12)

DESCRIPTION:  A substitute for instructional staff.  Reports to the building principal.

CHARACTERISTICS:

1. Passionate about caring for and helping children;
2. Effective verbal, written, and electronic communicator;
3. Capable of integrating technology resources into curriculum and instruction;
4. Able to maximize student effort and success both academically and socially;
5. Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students and colleagues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Able to organize and prioritize daily schedule and duties.
2. Manage the classroom in a positive manner and keep students engaged, on task, and collaborative;
3. Perform any other duties as assigned by a Supervisor / Administration.

Minimum one year college completed for non-certified applicants

Must be fingerprinted per NYSED Procedures.

Per diem substitute teachers receive $130.00 per full day (*includes teaching assistants). Limitations apply for length of employment of uncertified teachers as per the Codes, Rules and Regulations for the State of NY Title 8 CRR-NY 8-5.4.
